Last Tuesday, Virginia held it’s “open” presidential primary, which allows any registered voter to cast a ballot in either party’s election. While Donald Trump won overall in the state, Nikki Haley won in the 8th and 11th congressional districts that cover Arlington and most of Fairfax County. Donald Trump will receive 33 delegates and Nikki Haley earned 6 delegates. You can see the results from our local precincts on the Office of Elections site HERE.

VPAP, which provides excellent non-partisan data on Virginia elections, has a breakdown of the votes which showed a significant difference turnout between the two political parties: 2024 presidential primary turnout. MSNBC’s Psaki And Maddow Mock Virginia Voters

During MSNBC’s Super Tuesday election coverage, former White House press secretary Jen Psaki and co-host Rachel Maddow mocked Virginia voters, who indicated in polls that illegal immigration was their top issue. The National Review has the story here, Rachel Maddow, Jen Psaki Mock Voter Concerns About Illegal Immigration During Super Tuesday Panel.

Immigration remained in the headlines after President Biden’s State of the Union address on Thursday night. During his speech, President Biden referred to the suspected killer of University of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley as an “illegal immigrant”, but on Friday, after intense criticism from the radical left wing of the Democrat Party, he apologized for using the word “illegal” instead of “undocumented”.
