Virginia holds elections every year. This year’s elections are for your state, county and school board representatives.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO! Your ballot will NOT reflect political party affiliation for county-level offices. Only candidates running for state Senate and the House of Delegates will have a political party noted next to their name. Make sure to take the sample ballot information provided to you above in our Voter Info Tool! You can choose to have that information emailed to you.
Early Voting begins on Friday, September 22nd and continues until Saturday, November 4th. Voters can vote at ANY early voting location! Hours vary by location – check hours HERE.
Deadline to register or update your registration – Monday, October 16th by 5:00 PM in person, 11:50 PM online, or postmarked by 10/16. Click HERE.
Same day registration and voting with a provisional ballot is available Tuesday, October 17th – Saturday, November 4th. Voters may apply at any Early Voting location.
Satellite Early Voting Locations Open – Thursday, October 26th. Hours vary by location.
Election Day – Tuesday, November 7th Polls are open from 6:00 AM – 7:00 PM. Vote in person at your assigned precinct polling place. Voters may apply to register and vote with a provisional ballot at your precinct polling location.

- 24/7 in front of the Fairfax County Government Center
- At early voting locations during opening hours
- On Election Day at any precinct polling location, 6 a.m – 7 p.m.

Vote on Election Day, in person, Tuesday, November 7th.

All Virginia state Senators, state Delegates, the entire Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, entire School Board, and Soil & Water Board Directors will be on the 2023 ballot. There will also be a school bond question.
