Winsome Earle-Sears
Candidate for Governor of Virginia
Winsome Earle-Sears, a native of Kingston, Jamaica, immigrated to the United States at the age of six. She is proud to have served in the United States Marine Corps.
Winsome was first elected in 2002 to a majority Black House of Delegates district, a first for a Republican in Virginia since 1865.
She is the first female Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the first Black female elected to statewide office. As Lieutenant Governor, Winsome Earle-Sears presides over the Senate when they are in session.
John Reid, a seasoned conservative leader and communicator, is running for Lieutenant Governor of Virginia in 2025. With decades of experience, John has served as President Reagan's intern, communications director for U.S. Senator George Allen, and editorial communications chief at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He also worked internationally to expand democracy in the Middle East during Operation Iraqi Freedom and advocated for veterans’ mental health as Chief Communications Officer for IAVA (Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America).
John recently hosted an award-winning morning news talk show on NewsRadio WRVA in Richmond. A trusted voice for conservative values, John is committed to fighting for Virginia families, championing economic opportunity, and preserving the freedoms that make the Commonwealth exceptional. As he embarks on his campaign, John is focused on engaging with voters statewide to share his vision for a stronger Virginia.
