FCPS Orders Principals to Suspend Kids Without Masks
On Friday afternoon, January 21, as new Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin finalized guidance on his executive order allowing parental choice on whether students wear masks in school, Fairfax County Public Schools Superintendent went rogue and issued a 34-page “Principal Briefing” PowerPoint at a meeting with school administrators, ordering them to suspend students from school for a “Dress Code” violation if they don’t wear masks in school, according to a copy of the briefing received by Parents Defending Education.
BOMBSHELL: Woke Racist School Board Emails, Texts Revealed
In fall 2020, Fairfax County, Va., school board members said the quiet part out loud.
As school district officials engineered race-based admissions changes to America’s No. 1 high school, to increase the numbers of Black and Hispanic students, school board member Abrar Omeish sent board member Stella Pekarsky a text, saying: “I mean there has been an anti asian feel underlying some of this, hate to say it lol,” using the acronym for “laughing out loud.”
Yes, Virginia, There Is Critical Race Theory in Our Schools
School districts across Virginia have been expending resources, directing staff time, and hiring consultants to address “equity” in curriculum delivery and for professional development of teachers and other employees. Fairfax and Loudoun County, the two largest counties in the Commonwealth, have set the lead in driving the changes in education and embracing critical race theory and “anti-bias” in their respective divisions.
TAKE ACTION: Stop Critical Race Theory in Fairfax Schools
Fairfax County Public Schools Superintendent Scott Brabrand shocked local parents and community members by sending out a biased and unscientific sham of a survey, stating that he plans to issue a new “Anti-Racism, Anti-Bias Curriculum Policy” and revise the “Controversial Issues Policy” that makes certain that teachers are fair and impartial when they discuss controversial issues in the classroom.

Seventeen parents filed a lawsuit against the Fairfax County School Board and Fairfax County Public Schools Superintendent Scott Brabrand for illegally changing the admissions process at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.

FCPS Can Learn from Successful Charter Schools
In response to another year where a miniscule number of Black and Hispanic students were admitted to the incoming class at Thomas Jefferson High School of Science and Technology (“TJ”), Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) Superintendent Scott Brabrand is proposing to scrap the entrance exams and teacher recommendations and admit 80% of TJ’s students by lottery. The other 20% would be admitted on vague criteria
Asra Nomani: Woke Leftists “Targeting Asian Kids”
Asra Nomani was on WMAL’s Mornings on the Mall radio program today, discussing last night’s meeting of the Fairfax County School Board, where Superintendent Scott Brabrand unveiled his scheme to abolish merit-based, race-blind admissions standards at Thomas Jefferson High School of Science and Technology (“TJ”).
If enacted last year, Brabrand’s scheme would have cut TJ’s Asian student body from 70 percent to 52 percent.
Want to Solve TJ’s Diversity Problem? Reject a False Binary
Thomas Jefferson High School of Science and Technology (TJ), ranked as the nation’s #1 high school by U.S. News and World Report, is in the crosshairs of the Virginia Secretary of Education, Atif Qarni, and Fairfax County Public School Superintendent, Scott Brabrand. Lamentably, yet again, a miniscule number of Black and Hispanic students were admitted to TJ’s freshman class.
Over the summer, Secretary Qarni convened a secretive “task force” to sketch out their preferred solutions.
