While the nation is focused on the January 5 Georgia runoff elections for U.S. Senate, there is a critical special election far closer to home, also scheduled for January 5, 2021.

In Virginia’s 2nd Delegate District, incumbent Jennifer D. Carroll Foy vacated her seat in order to run for governor on the Democrat side.

Heather Mitchell, formerly a senior aide to the Prince William County Board of Supervisors, is the Republican nominee. She faces Democrat Candi King.

According to her website, Mitchell’s priorities include school choice, supporting law enforcement, and lower taxes. To donate or get involved with Mitchell’s campaign, visit MitchellForVA.com.
