Resign Now

By Lou DiLeonardo

Our Governor, Ralph Northam, is a pediatrician who believes in infanticide: “The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.”

What Mr. Northam described is the murder of a live baby. Our Governor, while in college, posed for a yearbook picture after painting his face black and standing next to someone dressed in Ku Klux Klan clothing. How is that for cultural sensitivity?

Our Lieutenant Governor, Justin Fairfax, has been accused of sexual assaults by two women. He admitted that the encounters took place but said they were consensual. During the September hearing for Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court, the world was told that “we must believe the woman” even if there is no proof of any crime — an allegation would suffice. Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee said this and their friends in the fake news media backed them up. No hypocrisy there!

Our Attorney General, Mark Herring, also admitted painting his face black with shoe polish but apologized: “This was a onetime occurrence and I accept full responsibility for my conduct. That conduct clearly shows that, as a young man, I had a callous and inexcusable lack of awareness and insensitivity to the pain my behavior could inflict on others. It was really a minimization of both people of color, and a minimization of a horrific history I knew well even then.”

Mr. Herring may only be sorry he had to go public before being exposed like Mr. Northam.

The people of Virginia, regardless of party affiliation, deserve better. The Fairfax County Republican Committee and others have rightly demanded that these three men immediately resign and hand the reins of government over to individuals of better character and better judgment. As of yet, however, none of them have done the honorable thing as each clings to his grand position in our government.

If these three men are the best today’s Democrat Party of Virginia has to offer the voting public, our commonwealth is in serious danger. Some Democrats have called on them to resign but their words have fallen on deaf ears. Allow the citizens of Virginia to rectify their error of electing the political Three Stooges. Do the righteous thing, Mr. Northam, Mr. Fairfax, and Mr. Herring. Your reputations are in tatters. Resign now.
