Paul Bartkowski: Concerned Dad for School Board

A local attorney and father of three, Paul Bartkowski is the Fairfax GOP-endorsed candidate for school board in the county’s Dranesville Magisterial District. “I decided to run out of a sense of duty to reverse the unfortunate, and often disturbing, course dictated by the current board,” Bartkowski says.

In a contrast to the current board, Bartkowski stresses that he is not beholden to any big unions or other outside forces. “My campaign is not supported by any national interest group, such as teachers unions; rather, I’m running to represent the original interest groups when it comes to schools — students, parents, and taxpayers,” the candidate says.

At his website, PaulForFCSB.com, Bartkowski clearly lays out what he will do for students, parents, and taxpayers if elected:

  • IMPROVE EDUCATION AND CURRICULUM: “I will put student learning and quality curriculum at the appropriate place on the board’s list of priorities — first!”
  • STOP THE IDEOLOGICAL MADNESS: “Unfortunately for the children who attend Fairfax County Public Schools and the taxpayers that fund them, the board is dominated by ideologically driven activists, who prioritize a warped view of ‘progress’ instead of academic achievement.”
  • RESPECT PARENTS’ FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS: “Parents know and want what is best for their children, and must be informed and involved in decisions relating to their child’s education.”
