RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — 8News sat down with Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears, the Republican nominee for governor.

Earle-Sears and 8News Capitol Bureau Reporter Tyler Englander discussed key topics, including what’s at stake in this election, economic issues, education, reproductive rights, and LGBT rights.

Watch the full interview below:

8News completed a similar one-on-one interview with Abigail Spanberger, the Democratic nominee for governor, earlier this month. That interview can be found here.

Editor’s Note: In the interview, when asking Earle-Sears a question on reproductive rights, Englander said third-term abortions were legal in Virginia in cases where a fetus is non-viable or if the mother’s life is at risk. Although a non-viable fetus can put a mother’s life at risk, Virginia law does not allow for a third-trimester abortion solely based on a non-viable pregnancy.
