On Saturday, April 6th, 503 Delegates to the Fairfax County Republican Committee Convention gathered at Lake Braddock Secondary School in Burke to elect a new Chairman. The candidates were Katie Gorka from Dranesville; Brian Murphy from Providence; and Tony Sabio from Providence, all of whom campaigned for the last couple of months meeting with Fairfax County residents and discussing their visions for the Fairfax County Republican Party.

Congratulations to Katie Gorka, who was elected Chairman of the Fairfax GOP in the first round with 68.9% of the vote. The photo above is of outgoing Fairfax GOP Chairman, Steve Knotts, with Katie.

Post-election Katie said, “I am so honored and excited about this opportunity to serve as the new Chair of the Fairfax GOP. I have been really inspired by the energy and enthusiasm I have seen over the past few months, while meeting members and volunteers throughout Fairfax County. There is a real hunger to get to work and turn our county around. I am very optimistic about what we are going to be able to do together.”

Below are the results of Saturday’s vote, broken down by magisterial district (Click HERE for a PDF).

During yesterday’s convention, there was a special Exhibit Hall where 26 candidates for U.S. Senate, House of Representatives, the RPV’s State Central Committee, RNC Representatives, along with several non-profit organizations, had the opportunity to meet and greet Delegates.

The Fairfax GOP would like to thank convention Delegates; the hundreds of Republicans who were approved for membership for the 2022-2024 term; the many volunteers who made the entire event run so smoothly; and the candidates for Chairman who worked hard and made this a very exciting race.

This is a crucial Presidential election year. Please volunteer and join our team! Email volunteer@fairfaxgop.org.
