Medical student Almira Mohammed is the GOP nominee for Virginia’s House of Delegates in District 11, which includes the City of Fairfax, Fair Oaks, and other portions of Fairfax County. Born to Trinidadian immigrants in New York City, Mohammed now considers Fairfax home. A first-time candidate, she is motivated by a love of the U.S. Constitution and a desire to write legislation that benefits her district.
Mohammed’s website, AlmiraForVirginia.com, outlines her priorities if elected to serve in Richmond:
On the campaign trail, Mohammed frequently hears concerns about the rising cost of living in the 11th District. The car tax, which disproportionately affects lower-income residents, will be on the chopping block if Mohammed is elected. “This tax is hurting residents,” the candidate says. “I will fight for tax relief for Virginia.”
