Republicans to Hold Party Canvass on November 5th

On Tuesday, January 10, 2023, a special election will be held to fill the newly-vacant 35th District seat for Virginia’s House of Delegates. The election was triggered by the resignation of longtime Delegate Mark Keam (D-35).

35th District Republicans will hold a party canvass (also known as a “firehouse primary”) on Saturday, November 5, 2022 to nominate a candidate. Voting location is TBD.

A second voting location might be announced, if deemed necessary, based on projected turnout. According to the official call, “Balloting will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will end at 4:00 p.m., except that anyone in the registration line at 4:00 p.m. may continue the registration process.”

Good luck to all potential nominees — let’s flip this district!
