VIRGINIA (WAVY) – Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears received support from President Donald Trump in her campaign for Virginia Governor, according to a post from Earle-Sears on X.

Trump was set to speak with press on Air Force One when he was asked if he would endorse Earle-Spears.

“I think the Republican candidate (Earle-Sears) is very good and she should win because the Democratic candidate (Abigail Spanberger) is a disaster,” said President Trump.

The president mentioned that although he is not too involved in Virginia, he believed Spanberger could not answer “the most basic question.” President Trump also mentioned energy costs would be lower under Republican leadership.

“Both of the Democrats (Virginia and New Jersey) are going to drive the energy prices through the roof. Your energy is going to double and triple,” said Trump. “If the Republican gets elected your energy is going to be coming down by 70, 80 percent.”
