At Thursday’s meeting of the Fairfax County Board of Education, Asra Nomani called out the school district’s “empty proclamations and declarations” on the value of Asian Americans. Nomani recounted the anti-Asian rhetoric and policies of school officials — to include the ongoing demonization of the largely Asian student body at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.
Nomani went on to blast the “vacuous survey” that was sent to families on Thursday, devoted to the advancement of wokeism in the county’s district-run schools. “And you dare to tell us that you are going to consider removing the one policy that parents have to defend their students from indoctrination and activism, the policy that makes certain that anything taught in our school that is controversial must be presented fairly,” Nomani said to board members. “If you have to remove a policy like that, how can you possibly be doing anything good?”
