On Election Day 2021, 8/10 Fairfax Precincts Trended Republican

A new map published by Virginia Public Access Project (VPAP) illustrates the significant gains Republicans made in Fairfax County this year. As VPAP noted: “In deep blue Fairfax County, Glenn Youngkin’s goal was to cut his losses compared to GOP gubernatorial performance in 2017. Enhanced election result data released by Fairfax County this week shows Youngkin met his goal in eight out of 10 precincts.”

Fairfax GOP Chairman Steve Knotts hailed the Republican gains, in a statement issued today. “Today’s radicalized Democrats clearly overreached, and voters just weren’t buying what they were selling,” Knotts said. “Our statewide and local candidates offered a commonsense, conservative vision of reform, addressing the actual needs and concerns of Virginia families. Of course, we also had a tremendous network of supporters countywide. I cannot thank our volunteers, donors, and candidates enough — they all truly made a difference.”

Several Fairfax County precincts saw huge swings in Republicans’ favor. Mason District’s “Holmes #1,” near Justice High School, swung Republican by a stunning 35.5 points. For more results by precinct in Fairfax County, view the interactive map on VPAP.org.
