Dozens of citizens rallied in support of local police on Saturday, May 22. Several candidates for office were in attendance, including Matt Lang, Kenny Meteiver, and Gary Pan.
The rally, organized by Stand Up Virginia and BLEXIT VA, featured dynamic speakers who stressed the importance of law and order.
Undermining law enforcement puts everyone at risk, Fairfax City Councilman Sang Yi warned, with his two little kids by his side. Yi’s son was proudly dressed in a police uniform for the occasion.
Mount Vernon resident Steven Mosley rejected what he called the “us versus them” attitude towards law enforcement. “When you defund the police, people who look like me get hurt the most,” Mosley said.
