Conservative teamwork wins! The Fairfax GOP and Supervisor Pat Herrity mobilized residents to call out this government overreach. Together, we flooded Democrat supervisors with calls and emails asking that they STOP this expensive, inefficient and unnecessary trash takeover.
Pat Herrity led the charge on the Board of Supervisors, raising critical concerns about the legality of forcing many homeowners to abandon their HOA covenants and warning about the real costs of this government takeover. His leadership gave our grassroots coalition the inspiration we needed to push back against this overreach.
It worked! The Democrat-controlled Board of Supervisors got so much heat from voters and Herrity’s persistent questions that they had to delay their hearing until October, hoping you’ll forget about their plan to control your trash and empty your wallet.
Here’s what our coalition and Herrity stopped them from doing (for now): eliminating your choice of trash company, forcing mandatory recycling rules on every household, imposing a new “Zero Waste Fee” (trash tax), and creating government “trash police” to monitor what you throw away.
This is exactly the kind of government overreach that drives up costs while reducing your freedom. Private companies compete for your business and keep prices low. Government monopolies give you higher costs, worse service, and no choice.
The Fairfax GOP, following Pat Herrity’s lead, organized this fight because we know that when conservatives stand together and make their voices heard, we can stop Democrat power grabs before they happen.
But this victory is only temporary. The Democrats haven’t given up – they’re just waiting for the heat to die down. We need to keep the pressure on through October and beyond.
