Stephanie Lundquist-Arora is a Fairfax County mother and the Fairfax chapter leader of the Independent Women’s Network. This week she took on State Sen. L. Louise Lucas (D-SD-18, Portsmouth) in The Washington Times.
Her argument is simple, and it is one a lot of us have been thinking for days. Lucas is charged with five federal counts. Her answer was to claim the full weight of the federal government was “wielded against an 82-year-old great-grandmother.”
Lundquist-Arora is not buying it. She writes in her column, “Little old great-grandmother is a far cry from her public persona.”
She also points out that Lucas is no powerless citizen. Lucas first won a seat on Portsmouth City Council in 1984, now sits in the state Senate, and chairs the Finance and Appropriations Committee. And she notes the indictment cites controlled marijuana buys at Lucas’s store in October and November 2024. That was before President Trump returned to office. So much for “political.”
Lucas has not been convicted, and the column says so. But the victim act is hard to take from a woman who helps write the budget. Read what a fellow Fairfax resident has to say about it.
