Fairfax County Republicans,

Today, the Republican Party nominated a candidate to run for the U.S. House of Representatives in the 11th Congressional District. Before I tell you who won, I want to say how much we all appreciated the quality and effort of all seven candidates who stepped up: Nathan Headrick, Karina Lipsman, Arthur Purvess, Lucas Rand, Mike Van Meter, Stewart Whitson and Sam Wong.  The congeniality and mutual respect with which the candidates ran was truly inspiring.

Everyone recognizes the extraordinary and urgent opportunity we have with this election. Not only can we flip a vital seat in Congress, but we can send the message that Republicans CAN WIN in Fairfax County. That would reverberate across the country. Especially in light of the fact that New Yorkers just chose a radical leftist as their Democratic nominee for mayor, showing that Republicans can win in once-blue districts is more important than ever!

With that, I am so excited to announce that Stewart Whitson is our nominee for the 11th Congressional District.

Stewart Whitson is a U.S. Army combat veteran and a former FBI Special Agent, currently serving at one of our country’s top conservative think tanks. In that role, he leads a team tasked with advancing conservative policies that promote limited, constitutional government and improve the lives of millions of Americans. Stewart routinely testifies before Congress in public hearings and closed-door briefings on a wide range of federal issues. He has appeared on numerous television and radio programs to promote conservative policies and has published dozens of articles in a wide range of media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Times, The Federalist, The American Spectator, and The Washington Examiner, among others. He fights every day to advance conservative policy on Capitol Hill, and now, armed with decades of experience, Stewart wants to fight for the people of the 11th District.

James Walkinshaw, current Braddock Supervisor, was chosen to be the Democrat nominee for the 11th District. The bottom line is that he is a leftist, who has supported ever-rising taxes, ever-increasing government spending, racist and wasteful DEI programs, and soft-on-crime policies. It’s time to send the Democrats packing!

Here’s the timeline:

  • This special election will take place on September 9th.
  • Early voting opens on July 25th.
  • You can apply for an absentee ballot here.

After 17-years of Democrat rule, Republicans in the 11th Congressional District finally have an opportunity to flip the seat in a Special Election on September 9th. Please come be a part of our team of happy warriors at the Fairfax GOP. Let’s do everything we can to support Stewart Whitson and all of our Republican candidates.
