  • When is the Special Election? January 10, 2023
  • How do I know if I live in the 35th District? Click HERE, enter your address in the “Who’s My Legislator” search bar, and the Virginia General Assembly’s website will list your district and all your elected state and federal representatives.
  • Will Early Voting be available? Yes! Early Voting begins 11/23 at the Fairfax County Gov’t Center. Click HERE for hours.
  • Is Absentee Voting by Mail-in Ballot available? Yes! Click HERE to apply for an Absentee Ballot.
  • How long will the winner serve after the results of the January 10th election are announced? The winner will serve the remainder of the 2021-23 term, and will be up for re-election on November 7, 2023.
  • What happened to Del. Mark Keam? He resigned on 9/6/22.
  • How did the Republicans choose their candidate? A public call for candidates was issued and a party canvass was scheduled for 11/5. Monique Baroudi and Kevin McGrath, who was the Republican nominee in 2021, filed as candidates. Following the Fairfax GOP’s sponsored candidate forum, Kevin McGrath decided to withdraw and give his full endorsement and support to Monique Baroudi. Monique Baroudi was certified as the nominee and the party canvass was canceled.
