On July 23, Christina Bobb, Senior Counsel for Election Integrity for the Republican National Committee (RNC), spoke to over 220 Fairfax Republicans about the RNC’s new initiatives for election security. Bobb is in charge of the GOP’s greatly expanded nationwide efforts to make sure state and local election administrators are following the law. The GOP is recruiting and training lawyers, election officers, poll watchers and other key volunteers in battleground states – including Virginia.
Bobb is also the author of Stealing Your Vote: The Inside Story of the 2020 Election and What It Means for 2024. She is a lawyer with a Georgetown University masters degree in national security law, and a former Marine Corps judge advocate who served in Afghanistan.
During the Trump Administration, she served in the Department of Homeland Security and then as a White House reporter for One America News Network (OANN). She was named as the GOP’s Senior Counsel for election integrity on March 12, 2024. She is leading the effort to recruit, train and deploy Americans across the country to keep the 2024 election honest, fair, secure and transparent.
“I’m so excited to hear from Katie Gorka about the numbers going up of actual workers, not just the volunteers and poll watchers, but the actual workers in these counties who have come out to work and be part of that process,” She continued, “Having that number increase is absolutely key. It’s absolutely vital to have parity inside these county offices, taking a look at what’s coming through, how the election is being administered, and making sure that it’s done fairly,”
She emphasized the need for volunteers to manage local efforts; “it takes a lot of manpower just to manage the volunteers. Some of the volunteers that might not want to actually be poll workers, can help manage and schedule people from their home just using their phones.”
Bobb mentioned several challenges with ensuring that only eligible voters remain on the voter rolls. “There’s a number of issues that I think are particularly concerning for 2024, namely illegal aliens coming in to vote. It’s very concerning that they’re getting registered to vote.”
Bobb was joined on the call by John Walczyk, Virginia State Director of election integrity for the Republican National Committee. Walczyk announced the RNC’s ambitious plans for Virginia, specifically “a mandate from the Republican National Committee to recruit 5,000 poll watchers and officers of election as well as 500 volunteer attorneys.” Walczyk said that Virginia was close to achieving those goals, announcing “as of 20 minutes before I hopped on this call, we’re at 3,400, which we’re really excited about.”
Both Christina Bobb and John Walczyk directed potential volunteers to the GOP’s Protectthevote.com website, the center for their election integrity efforts. Volunteers can sign up for different volunteer positions and their information will be sent to their local committees.
