President Trump Has Delivered for African Americans

In 2016, President Trump asked African Americans, ‘What do you have to lose?’ Since his election, the black community has seen unprecedented growth and prosperity,” Rob Smith (“America’s favorite black, gay Republican”) notes in a video commentary released this week. Mr. Smith hails three key wins that President Trump has secured for African Americans during his first term:

  • Record low African American unemployment
  • Criminal justice reform — 91% of those receiving early release from prison are black
  • Highest-ever funding for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU)

“In 2020, the question is no longer, what do we have to lose,” Mr. Smith concludes. “It’s imagine all that we have to gain!”
