Praying for Victory 2018

Republicans must win at the polls this week in order continue the extraordinary economic, security, and judicial successes of the past two years. That Republican voters must do everything possible to support our candidates. 

For those interested in praying for our Republican candidates as the election draws near, some proposed prayers for Monday, November 5, and Tuesday, November 6, follow:

When the ancient Israelites entered the Promised Land, their first obstacle was the great walled city of Jericho. As Joshua and his men prepared to conquer the city, God gave them a clear battle strategy. They were to walk around the city for 6 days without speaking one word. On the final day, they silently circled the city 7 times. What went through the minds of these untrained warriors as they only heard the tramping feet of their fellow countrymen? Did they hear the taunts from Jericho citizens above? They saw the overwhelming wall up close. Did they feel outnumbered and unprepared? How many realized their only hope for victory would come from God? During the silent trek, how many called out to Him in prayer for victory?

Today we need God to halt the momentum of the Democrats (especially in Fairfax Co.) We also need Him to help stop the invasion at our southern border. He can also crumble our opponents like He crumbled the walls of Jericho.

These midterm elections will determine who controls the House and Senate. We must hold our majority. Countless angry groups like Resist have galvanized to win this election using many tricks. Distortions and open lies saturate our media. People need to recognize truth when they see or hear it.

Please commit to praying daily for this important election until all the ballots have been counted. Please add anything else the Lord may lay on your heart.

Praise:   “For great is Your love, higher than the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, let Your glory be over all the earth.

With God we will gain the victory.” Psalm 108:4, 5, 13

“The Lord foils the plans of the nations; He thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of His heart through all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He chose for His inheritance.” Ps. 33:10-12

Dear Heavenly Father, We thank you for free elections, for the privilege of bringing our prayers to You, and for Your sovereign control over Virginia and America.

Confession:  “If My people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land.” I Chr. 7:14

Dear Father, Please forgive our apathy, allowing liberals to repeatedly outmaneuver us.

 Requests:  “For Thou will bless the righteous. With favor will You surround Him.” Ps. 5:12

Dear Heavenly Father, please fill each candidate with Your wisdom. Please give a decisive victory and shine Your favor on:

 Monday, November 5

On the evening before our election, (or during the day) go to your local polling precinct. Take a few like-minded friends with you and walk around the building. If you like you may begin by singing “God Bless America” or another patriotic song. Pray out loud or silently. Add the requests listed below to the general requests listed above.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We lift up this polling place. We pray for no tampering with machines, ballots or any other confusion causing voters to mis-vote. We pray any attempts at fraud will fail. We ask that all ballots cast will be fair ballots. We pray that any who might attempt to cast a second ballot would fail. Help all officials stop voter fraud.

Please give all Republicans unity as we support Conservatives. Help Independent voters to see truth and support Republican candidates. Please fill each candidate with Your wisdom. Give a decisive victory and shine Your favor on:
