ONLINE ZOOM CLASSES WITH TRAINER: Most classes are offered online via Zoom from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. All Poll Watcher Zoom classes are designed for beginners or for review for experienced poll watchers.

IN-PERSON CLASSES: In-person classes are limited to 21 attendees. All In-Person classes are held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Fairfax County Republican Committee Headquarters at 4246 Chain Bridge Rd, Fairfax VA. 22030.

CENTRAL ABSENTEE PRECINCT: If you want to observe the processing and scanning of absentee ballots, sign up for one of the four Central Absentee Precinct (CAP) classes. You must take the CAP class to be a Poll Watcher at the CAP. 

CANVASSING: If you want to volunteer to observe the canvassing of precinct documents following the election, sign up for one of the two Precinct Canvassing classes. Any member of the public can attend Precinct Canvassing.

PRE-RECORDED VIDEO CLASSES WITH REVIEW QUESTIONS FOR SELF-STUDY: If you have been a Poll Watcher in the past two years and worked two or more shifts in 2022 or 2023, you can take the series of 8 short “on-demand” pre-recorded video lessons and self-study questions to help you review. You can take any of these 8 lessons at any time. Contact pollwatchers@fairfaxgop.org  if you’re experienced and we will send you the link! It’s easy and convenient.

  • Early voting opens 5/3
  • 5/28 – Deadline to register to vote (otherwise, same-day registration with provisional ballot)
  • 6/7 – Deadline to apply for an absentee ballot​
  • 6/8 - One of two Saturdays open for early voting, and additional early voting locations open.
  • Early Voting ends 6/15
  • 6/18 – Election Day
