of the Fairfax County Republican Committee of Virginia

As Chairman of the Fairfax County Republican Committee of Virginia and pursuant to the Plan of Organization and County Committee By-laws and as recommended and directed by the County Committee, I, Katharine C. Gorka, do hereby issue this Call for a Braddock District Party Canvass to be held on October 4, 2025, from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the West Springfield Governmental Center, 6140 Rolling Rd, Springfield, VA 22152,
for the purpose of:
(a) Nominating a Republican candidate for the Braddock District Supervisor, to be voted for in the December 9, 2025, Special Election.
Qualifications for Participation
All legal and qualified voters of Braddock District under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, regardless of race, religion, national origin or sex, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who, if requested, express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election, may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its mass meetings, party canvasses, conventions or primaries encompassing their respective election districts.
Filing Requirements
Candidates for the nomination at said canvass shall pay a filing fee of $750.00 by check or money order made out to the Fairfax County Republican Committee, or by digital payment submitted at https://fairfaxgop.org/ for which the candidate must elect the option to pay the online processing fee, and file a written statement in person to:

The written statement and filing fee must be received not later than Thursday, October 2nd at 5:00 PM. The statement shall affirm that the candidate meets the requirements for serving on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors (a resident of the Commonwealth for the year immediately preceding the election and qualified to vote for and hold the office sought or will be at the time of the election, pursuant to to Va. Code § 24.2-500) and shall include as an attachment a completed State Board of Elections Form 505/520 (Declaration of Candidacy) which may be found at the following web address: https://www.elections.virginia.gov/candidatepac-info/candidate-forms/index.html.
Registration and Fee
Only legal and qualified voters of the Braddock District may participate in the Party Canvass. There is no pre-registration and no fee to participate. Onsite registration will be available during the Canvass voting period. The Credentials Committee will verify that each registrant is in “accord with the principles of the Republican Party” and, if requested, will “express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election,” pursuant to the Republican Party of Virginia Plan of Organization and the qualifications for participation outlined within this Official Call.
Cancellation Clauses
If not more than the number of persons to be elected shall file for each office to be elected at the Party Canvass, then such properly filed persons shall be declared nominated or elected, as the case may be, and the County Committee shall have the option to cancel the Party Canvass.
