Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares is now leading a nationwide effort to defeat radical, soft-on-crime prosecutors like Fairfax County’s Steve Descano. “Eliminating criminal justice is not criminal justice reform,” Miyares tweeted in late March. “Honored to serve as Chairman of Protecting Americans Action Fund, a new group standing up to left wing liberal prosecutors who refuse to enforce the law & prioritize public safety.”
On Tuesday, San Francisco voters ousted leftist District Attorney Chesa Boudin amid concerns over rising burglaries and homicides. “Boudin’s recall may spell trouble for progressive prosecutors across the country,” Axios noted. “Boudin’s recall was introduced on April 2021, when supporters of the effort slammed Boudin as being too soft on crime.”
Miyares joined Fox News on Thursday to discuss the growing national backlash against soft-on-crime Democrats. “Californians got mugged by reality,” Miyares said. “They roundly rejected this criminal-first, victim-last mindset.”
