Matt Lang — a veteran, father, husband, and security consultant — is running for Virginia Senate in District 38, which includes Great Falls, Reston and other sections of Fairfax County. After his time in the U.S. Marines, Lang served as a deputy sheriff in both Fairfax and Loudoun Counties. He currently works in security for a major international aid organization.
Having settled in Reston with his wife and children, Lang is determined to protect his community’s unique quality of life. “The trails, the lakes, the village centers, and the green spaces make Reston a great place for our family and community,” Lang says. “As your Senator, I will work to preserve our community and its natural beauty.”
At his website, LangForVA.com, the candidate outlines his agenda for a better, stronger Virginia:
A tireless campaigner, Lang is taking his message of reform across District 38, holding fundraisers, knocking on doors, and attending various community events. Earlier this month, he joined fellow Republicans Puneet Ahluwalia and Indira Massey for a tour of the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS Center). “The tour was informative and it was good to speak with Imam Nassimi about the interests and concerns of the Muslim community and further the discussion about education and family values,” Lang tweeted following the visit.
