Luellen Hoffman Maskeny — widow, mother, and cancer survivor — is a contributing writer for Open to Hope, a nonprofit whose mission is to support people with compassion after loss. “Stay positive and be grateful no matter what you are facing because we don’t know when it will end,” Hoffman Maskeny has written. “All we only know is that we have now, we have ‘This Day’ and this day is all we need.”
A graduate of George Mason University, Hoffman Maskeny is a former educator who currently works in media for the special ops community. Now a candidate for Virginia’s House of Delegates, she is driven to share her “experience, strength, hope, and courage by serving the District 7 community on the state level.”

The people in District 7 are like this, I know them and they are great people, smart and kind,” the candidate says. “Together we will come up with reasonable solutions to deal with the problems we face today.”
