LISTEN: Steve Knotts Slams Fairfax Dems’ Pro-Riot Tweet

With our nation mired in civil disorder, the official Twitter account of the Fairfax County Democratic Committee heralded rioting as “an integral part of this country’s march towards progress,” in a now-deleted May 30 tweet.

Fairfax GOP Chairman Steve Knotts slammed the “reckless” tweet in a June 1 interview on WMAL’s Mornings on the Mall radio program. “This is about left-wing violence, and it needs to end,” Mr. Knotts said.

Roughly seven hours after Mr. Knotts’ WMAL interview, the Fairfax Dems deleted their May 30 tweet, which they blamed on an unnamed “volunteer.”

As NewsBusters’ Managing Editor Curtis Houck noted in a tweet, “The @FairfaxDems think they can just wish away their tweet, but we know what they said in endorsing riots.”
