Monique Baroudi, 35th District GOP nominee for House of Delegates, recently joined WMAL’s O’Connor & Company to discuss the importance of Tuesday’s special election. “I didn’t grow up wanting to get into politics,” Baroudi told WMAL co-hosts Larry O’Connor and Patrice Onwuka. “But I feel like there’s so much going on right now that moms need to stand up and fight for our kids.”
Baroudi, a 1992 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, lamented the ongoing decline of Fairfax County Public Schools. “Private schools were much better prepared to face COVID than the public schools were,” Baroudi remembered.
The interview concluded with a discussion of the need for parental involvement in their children’s lives. “Parents are the primary educators of their children,” Baroudi said. “School systems should be a partner in that education, but they are not the primary educators. I would absolutely never support legislation that cuts parents out of the process.”
