On April 29th, the Fairfax County Republican Party lost a dedicated volunteer and committed patriot in Keith Damon.
Keith was born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and raised in Mt. Lebanon, PA. He received his undergraduate degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, NY. In addition, he received his PHD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin.
Upon graduation, Keith spent his career at Mobil, working in the New York City and Virginia corporate offices. Once he retired, he became a teacher at Learning Tree International, both locally and internationally, specializing in computer-related subjects.
Keith was active in the Republican Party, serving on the State Central Committee of the Republican Party of Virginia (RPV). He was the Election Support Director for the Fairfax County Republican Committee, and after every election and throughout the year, he provided detailed and invaluable analysis of voting results for Fairfax County.
At church, Keith served as a Sunday School teacher, Deacon, and Chairman of the Business Committee. He was a world traveler, having visited 147 countries, in addition to teaching in Saudi Arabia. Keith enjoyed attending theatre, symphony, opera, and ballet performances. Playing bridge was also one of his interests.
He married his wife Anne at Holy Trinity Church in New York City. Initially, they lived in Stanford and Rowayton, CT, but settled in Fairfax County in 1980.
On April 6th, Keith attended the Fairfax GOP Convention, and on April 20th, he participated in the 11th Congressional District Convention. He was an active and involved Republican until the very end, and we are grateful for the countless hours he poured into the Fairfax GOP for so many years.
Keith will be greatly missed by family, friends, and associates.
Thank you, Keith Damon, for a life well-lived.
