Elon Musk is preparing to spend up to $120 million to elect Republicans this November — and for a party heading into the midterms, that is a serious shot of good news. His America PAC will run a field program across at least eight states, between $100 million and $120 million, with the heaviest focus on winning the Senate.
That’s the reporting from The Hill, Forbes, and others, and the number matters less than the method. This is the same operation that made Musk the single largest donor of the 2024 cycle, when America PAC poured more than $260 million into Donald Trump’s return to the White House. It didn’t do it with vanity ad buys. It did it with a ground game — door-knocking, digital, and direct mail aimed squarely at conservative voters who don’t always turn out.
That’s the part every Fairfax Republican should read twice. Elections aren’t won by the side that feels strongest in July. They’re won by the side that knocks the most doors in October and drags the most low-propensity voters to the polls. Musk is betting nine figures on that truth, and he’s betting it because it already worked once.
For a county where Republicans are outnumbered on every board, the lesson travels. Momentum is real, the resources are lining up, and the winning formula — organize, contact, turn out — is exactly the formula a committee can run block by block, precinct by precinct, whether or not a single dollar of that money lands in Virginia.
