GOP Election Chiefs Needed

Election Integrity Working Group | Fairfax GOP

One of the benefits of electing a Republican Governor last year is that on Election Day, November 8, all Election Chiefs at the 264 precincts across Fairfax County can be Republicans. But we need 100 more Republican Election Chiefs to staff all 264 precincts. You can help! If you’ve served as an Election Officer in the past, PLEASE consider being an Election Chief this year.

The Fairfax County Office of Elections is committed to ensuring that all new Chiefs receive adequate training so they can be successful. Here is a link for a webinar recently held by the Office of Elections for all potential Election Chiefs: https://training.electionofficers.com/nov-2022/qa-possible-chiefs.

You can also find general information about Election Chief pay, training, and other responsibilities here: https://training.electionofficers.com/chief-info.

If you’ve been an election officer, please make the decision now to train to be a chief — and don’t delay!

To inform the Office of Elections that you are available to be a Chief, just log in to your Election Officer account at the Fairfax Election Officer Portal and complete the availability survey (https://www.vote4fairfax.com) or email electionofficers@fairfaxcounty.gov.

We Also Need More Republican Election Officers!

We need more Republican Election Officers to work in precincts on November 8th, so if you’re interested, apply here: https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/elections/officers/new-officers.

In Fairfax County in the past, Democrats recruited many more Election Officers than Republicans did. This year, our goal is to have parity (an equal number). The Office of Elections will provide extensive training, manuals, and hands-on sessions with equipment to prepare you to be an Election Officer — or to be a Chief if you’ve already served as an Election Officer.

The Office of Elections Is Hiring Seasonal Workers!

The Office of Elections is currently hiring about 150 individuals to help prepare for the November 2022 election. Positions range from one week in length to the full election season and include opportunities to work at early voting locations, process absentee mail ballots, process voter registration applications, help with HR or IT, work as a rover, research provisional ballots, or generally work in the Office of Elections.

The deadline to apply for a seasonal position is Friday, August 5. The Office of Elections will consider applications on a first-come, first-served basis.

For more information about various positions and to apply, go here: https://form.jotform.com/FairfaxElections/seasonal-positions-application.

While individuals who have been election officers are preferred for some positions, the Fairfax County Office of Elections is happy to review anyone’s application — so feel free to send this link to family or friends!

Thanks to those of you who have already committed to being Election Officers or serving as Election Chiefs in November. The seasonal worker positions are also important if you have the time.

Please make a commitment to serve as a Poll Greeter and/or Poll Watcher during Early Voting OR as a Greeter, Poll Watcher, Election Officer, or Election Chief on November 8th. We need you!
