FCPS garnered national news this past week when the US Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal by the parent group challenging the change to admissions standards at Fairfax County’s acclaimed magnet school, Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology “TJHSST”. A group of parents and students, the Coalition for TJ, was initially successful at the trial court, but FCPS won on appeal at the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
