On Tuesday, an 18-year-old illegal alien named Israel Flores-Ortiz was sentenced to just 360 days in jail — with credit for time served — after being found guilty of nine counts of misdemeanor assault and battery for systematically groping girls in the crowded hallways of Fairfax High School wtop. Flores-Ortiz entered the United States illegally from El Salvador in 2024. The Department of Homeland Security said that if he’s released, “ICE stands ready to take him into custody and deport” him. wtop
Here’s the problem: Fairfax County Democrats have written policies specifically designed to stop that deportation.
🟥 Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano runs a formal office policy prohibiting his prosecutors from “assist[ing] federal agents with civil immigration enforcement” House Judiciary Committee Republicans — including sharing arrest or immigration-status information with ICE.
🟥 Sheriff Stacey Kincaid runs the jail where this predator is being held and has refused to honor ICE detainer requests for years. Both she and Descano have been called to testify before the U.S. House Judiciary Subcommittee on May 14 at a hearing titled “Fairfax County, Virginia: The Dangerous Consequences of Sanctuary Policies.” WJLA
🟥 Board of Supervisors Chairman Jeff McKay and his 9-Democrat majority passed the “Trust Policy” that made Fairfax the first Virginia county to end voluntary ICE cooperation.
🟥 Governor Abigail Spanberger made it worse statewide. On February 4, 2026, she terminated all 287(g) agreements in Virginia — ending state cooperation with ICE entirely. Homeland Security
🟥 Superintendent Michelle Reid and the 12-member Democrat School Board hired lawyers instead of protecting the girls — an active federal Title IX probe is underway.
These Democrat officials chose extreme activist politics over common-sense families. If Flores-Ortiz walks out of that jail and disappears into the community instead of onto a deportation flight, every one of them owns the next victim. Vote them out.
