The Fairfax GOP officially nominated Joe Galdo for Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, in a 51 to 1 vote last night. The vote followed a very extensive question-and-answer session with the candidate.
On the heels of his nomination, Mr. Galdo issued the following statement today:
I have lived in Fairfax County for nearly four decades. Since the Democrats have taken over, I have seen our quality of life steadily decline – even as taxes rise year after year.
No matter what happens, the Democrats’ answer is always the same: more regulation, more spending, and always more taxes.
As Ronald Reagan used to remind us, bigger and bigger government isn’t the answer to our problems – big government is the problem!
In short, I believe that our county government has grown too big, too intrusive, and it spends way too much. I am running for Chairman to fix this.
I know that I cannot do this alone – we need solid Republican majorities on the county board, on the school board and on the soil and water conservation board.
And that is why I’m going to be telling everyone I meet not just to vote for me, but to vote for every Republican, for every office, on this year’s ballot.
I remain confident that, together, we can make Fairfax affordable again. We can make Fairfax safe again. And, yes, we are going to make Fairfax great again!
