The sun is shining brightly in Fairfax County and it’s a beautiful day! Meanwhile, in Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, and parts of other states, the situation is absolutely devastating!
People in these areas have lost their homes, churches, schools, family members, and friends. Many are isolated and cut off because roads are washed away; bridges have collapsed; cell service is down; plus they have no power or clean water. The situation is dangerous and sadly, the death count will continue to rise as more bodies are recovered by search teams.
Ordinary Americans are stepping up to provide critical assistance to individuals and communities that have lost everything. Many of you are familiar with Samaritan’s Purse of the Billy Graham Ministry.
Samaritan’s Purse is based in Boone, NC, which is in the Western part of the state that has been so deeply impacted by the storm. Please go to https://samaritanspurse.org/ and watch a brief video by Franklin Graham of how they are helping across the decimated regions hit by Hurricane Helene, and consider donating to this organization that is on the ground and always does incredible work.
Also, Attorney General Jason Miyares is teaming up with Trump Force 47 and Republican units like the Fairfax GOP to collect the items below (no glass containers please) for victims in Southwest VA.
