At the Fairfax GOP Convention held on March 26, 2022, Chairman Steve Knotts shared the following proclamation:
WHEREAS, our fellow Republican Elizabeth L. Schultz honorably served on the Fairfax County School Board for eight years;
WHEREAS, Ms. Schultz additionally served for one year in the U.S. Department of Education as Deputy Director of the Office of Educational Technology;
WHEREAS, Ms. Schultz currently serves in the Virginia Department of Education as Assistant State Superintendent;
WHEREAS, Ms. Schultz has applied her extensive nonprofit and private sector experience to governmental roles on the local, state, and federal levels;
WHEREAS, Ms. Schultz has consistently endeavored to serve as a careful steward of taxpayer resources, advocating for transparency, operational efficiencies, and fiscal restraint;
WHEREAS, Ms. Schultz has been a tireless advocate for the rights of parents with respect to their children’s education;
WHEREAS, in her many roles over the years, whether as a citizen-activist or a public official, Ms. Schultz has been a forceful champion of our party’s conservative ideals; and on January 18, 2022, the Fairfax County Republican Committee voted unanimously to honor Ms. Schultz’s lifetime of service;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Steve Knotts, on behalf of a very grateful Fairfax County Republican Committee, hereby recognize the distinguished public service of a good woman and loyal friend:

As a committee, we commend Ms. Schultz’s ongoing efforts to reform public education for the benefit of Virginia’s students. Further, we are determined to bolster and defend Ms. Schultz in this noble cause, however we are able.
