Fairfax, VA – The Fairfax County Republican Committee is pleased to announce its endorsement of Ken Balbuena in the special election for Braddock Supervisor, which will be held on December 9th. This vacancy was created by the resignation of James R. Walkinshaw on September 10, 2025.
Ken Balbuena has demonstrated a deep commitment to the Braddock community, serving in many different roles, including civic association president, PTA president, chair of the Fairfax County Public Schools’ Adult and Community Education Advisory Committee, board member of Visit Fairfax (the County’s official travel and tourism board), and member of the Future of Lake Accotink Task Force, as well as serving on several nonprofit boards and as a youth sports coach.
Katie Gorka, Chair of the Fairfax GOP, said:
“Ken Balbuena is an exemplar of community service. As Braddock Supervisor, he will be a great asset to residents of the Braddock District, advocating for lowering their taxes, preserving Lake Accotink, and helping to keep Braddock neighborhoods safe and affordable.”
The election will take place on Tuesday, December 9th, and is only open to eligible voters in the Braddock magisterial district. Individuals can check their eligibility to vote in this election at Fairfax County’s Citizen Portal. Early voting begins on October 24th.
Note: Because no other candidate registered, the Party Canvass scheduled for October 4th has been cancelled.
