Fairfax GOP Chairwoman Katie Gorka appeared on WMAL’s O’Connor and Company radio show Monday morning to talk about big problems in our local schools.
During the interview, Gorka told listeners that the Fairfax County School Board has gotten rid of the Family Life Education Curriculum Advisory Committee. This means parents no longer have a say in what their kids learn about sex education.
“I think a ton of parents don’t even know that this stuff is taught in school,” Gorka said on the show.
Gorka pointed out that schools are teaching topics like sexual orientation and gender identity to kids as young as 11 and 12 years old. When parents planned to show up at meetings to voice concerns, the school board kept changing the meeting dates before finally canceling them completely on March 13th.
Gorka also shared some shocking news about School Board member Kyle McDaniel. He’s been accused of taking $175,000 from his workplace for personal use, including his campaign and strip clubs. What’s really worrying is that this same person helps make decisions about the $4 billion school budget!
The Fairfax GOP is working hard to let parents know what’s happening in their children’s schools. If you want to learn more or help out, please contact us at FairfaxGOP.com/Volunteer.
