Democrats don’t want fair elections. They want guaranteed elections.
That’s the only way to read a new analysis from The Federalist, which reports that more than 90 percent of the $49.7 million fueling the “Virginians for Fair Elections” campaign came from outside Virginia.
Read that again. A ballot measure sold to Virginians as grassroots “fairness” is being bankrolled almost entirely by out-of-state interests. The top three donors alone account for over $45 million:
The Democratic Party of Virginia itself kicked in just $710,825 — barely 1.4 percent of the total haul.
What are they buying with $50 million? A redraw of Virginia’s congressional map that flips the state from a 6–5 Democrat-Republican split to 10 Democrats and 1 Republican. They’re not asking voters to fix a problem. They’re asking voters to lock Republicans out of Virginia’s congressional delegation for a decade.
Governor Abigail Spanberger is backing it. Senate Majority Leader Scott Surovell is pushing it. Speaker Don Scott is whipping the votes. Every Fairfax Democrat in Richmond will follow the D.C. money.
This is what one-party rule looks like: out-of-state billionaires writing Virginia’s congressional maps while local Democrats smile and nod.
The redistricting referendum is on the ballot April 21, 2026.
Vote NO. Bring everyone you know.
