Bradley Thayer is Director of China Policy at the Center for Security Policy. He is a widely published author on a broad range of U.S. national security concerns, including the causes and consequences of China’s rise and its adverse implications for the U.S., its allies, and the other states in international politics; China’s use of force; the origin, development, and rule of the Chinese Communist Party; the history of Communist thought and its evolution from Marx and Engels, through Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Gramsci, the Frankfurt School and critical theory to today; U.S. national security policy; nuclear proliferation, deterrence and terrorism; cyber warfare and deterrence; and NATO and transatlantic relations. His most recent books are the co-authored Understanding the China Threat and the co-authored How China Sees the World: Han-Centrism and the Balance of Power in International Politics.
