CCI is hosting the Mid-Autumn Festival on Saturday, September 17, 2022 to allow residents of the Greater Washington, D.C. metro region to take part in this honored tradition based on the legend of Chang’e, the Moon goddess in Chinese mythology. The Mid-Autumn Festival is also known as the Moon Festival and has been celebrated in Chinese culture for centuries. Similar holidays exist in Japan, Vietnam, and other countries in East and Southeast Asia. CCI’s unique festival will take guests on a journey to experience the rich cultures of China, Korea, Japan, and the Philippines and feature afternoon cultural activities that are free to the general public culminated by the evening Mid-Autumn Festival Concert with tickets for purchase.
The complimentary Cultural Activities from 2:00 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. will include distinguished practitioners of Chinese Medicine to offer complimentary consultations, Asian cuisine vendor with food for purchase, along with family-friendly arts and crafts and dragon dance that are sure to be both educational and fun-filled. Those attending the Festival Concert from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. will be treated to a true “Celebration of Asian Culture” that is not to be missed.
