Rachna Sizemore Heizer was sworn in Tuesday night as the new Braddock District Supervisor, completing her leap from the Fairfax County School Board to county government. In her speech, she promised to “restore trust in government.”

Here’s the problem: Trust in Fairfax County government was broken by the very Democrat machine she’s part of.

Sizemore Heizer served on the School Board alongside Karl Frisch (Providence), Melanie Meren (Hunter Mill), and other Democrats who directed Superintendent Michelle Reid to implement extreme policies that alienated parents across the county. Now she’s joining the Board of Supervisors—where Democrats like Chairman Jeffrey McKay, Dalia Palchik (Providence), and Walter Alcorn (Hunter Mill) control spending and county policy. Republican Pat Herrity (Springfield) remains the lone voice for fiscal responsibility.

This is how the Democrat machine works in Fairfax County. Officials like Sizemore Heizer bounce from one position to another, always moving up, never held accountable. James Walkinshaw left this seat to join Congress—where he now votes with Nancy Pelosi and Democrat leadership 100% of the time. Sizemore Heizer simply slides into his spot.

At the state level, Governor-Elect Abigail Spanberger, Lieutenant Governor-Elect Ghazala Hashmi, and Attorney General-Elect Jay Jones will take office in January, extending one-party Democrat rule from Richmond to your neighborhood.

Here’s the opportunity: Sizemore Heizer’s School Board seat is now vacant. A special election must be held. Parents who are fed up with what’s happening in Fairfax County Public Schools have a chance to elect someone who actually represents families—not activists.
