A former teacher in the county school system, Tisler holds a Bachelor of Arts in History with a certification in General Education as well as a Master of Science in Education with a concentration in Special Education. “During my years of teaching, I witnessed firsthand what works and doesn’t work, from the classroom to central office, how both students and teachers get lost and/or forgotten in the system, how money and talent is wasted, how leaders aren’t nurtured, and the overall inefficiency that rules school divisions,” says Tisler.

Last month, Tisler joined Sebastian Gorka’s nationally syndicated radio show to discuss her candidacy and the urgent need for change in Fairfax County. “I’m out there in the community, talking to a wide spectrum politically, left to right,” Tisler told Gorka. “The majority of parents want their kids able to read, write, and do math — and to access a rigorous curriculum.”
