The political landscape continues to evolve at the speed of light. This week we have the news of Kamala Harris’s pick for running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

This is terrible news for the country, but in some ways this is good news for Republicans. Because with this pick, the radical wing of the Democratic Party has consolidated its hold, and there is just no arguing anymore that this is even remotely the Democratic Party of our mothers and fathers. 

The challenge for all of us is that our left-leaning friends insulate themselves with media outlets intent on colluding with the Democratic Party and which therefore are doing their best to paint Kamala and even radical Walz as moderates. But we, as friends and neighbors, can break through that white noise with the truth. That is exactly what we must do. So here are some of the key facts about Tim Walz that you can share:

1) Under Walz’s leadership, Minnesota has become a high-crime state, with its rate of violent crimes now above the national average.

2) During Walz’s tenure, Minnesota forecast a budget surplus of $18 billion at the start of the 2023 legislative session. Now, not only have they spent almost all of that surplus, they are also raising taxes and fees by $10 billion over the next four years.

3) Overall Minnesota’s state government spending will be 33 percent higher in 2027 than it was in 2022.

4) Part of this dramatic increase in spending is due to the fact that under Walz’s leadership, Minnesota now provides a number of state benefits to illegal aliens, including free college tuition and free healthcare.

5) Walz’s hesitation to call in the National Guard during the George Floyd protests, and both his criticism of law enforcement and his support for protestors helped fuel the conflagration that then spread across the country.

6) According to a report from Minnesota’s legislative auditor, Walz’s administration “failed miserably in its duty to properly oversee millions of federal dollars it administered to nonprofits to feed children.” The report blamed Walz’s alleged incompetence for creating “opportunities for fraud.”

7) Not only did Walz sign legislation requiring schools to stock feminine hygiene products in boys’ bathrooms, he also signed legislation allowing minors to get sex-change operations in Minnesota.

8) Walz signed a bill into law that will give driver’s licenses to potentially 77,000 eligible illegal aliens.

And we cannot forget his now infamous quote: “one person’s socialism is another person’s neighborliness”. 
That’s true, at least until the late-night arrests, torture, and imprisonment start. No wonder the Democratic Socialists of America have endorsed this ticket!

It is hard to imagine anything worse for America than Kamala Harris or Tim Walz sitting across the table from Vladimir Putin or Xi Jinping or Ali Khamenei. But the fact that Kamala Harris gave in to pressure from the pro-Hamas wing of the Democratic Party, rejecting the somewhat more moderate governor of Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro, because of his pro-Israel stance, in favor of Tim Walz, allows us to show our Democratic friends and family members just how radical this team is.  The choice could not be more stark!

So I ask you all to educate yourselves on exactly who Tim Walz is and to share that information.
We must break through the mainstream media’s propaganda and tell the truth!

And on a positive note, Governor Glenn Youngkin took an important step to help protect the security of our elections. On Wednesday, he issued Executive Order 35: Comprehensive Election Security Protecting Legal Voters and Accurate Counting, which calls for:

• a tightening of security measures around voting
• more timely removal of deceased and ineligible voters
• verification by the DMV of an applicant’s legal status when applying for a driver’s license
• stricter enforcement of election-related laws.

This is all good news!  Our governor and attorney general are doing their part; we must do ours, which is to get out and vote and make sure everyone we know gets out and votes.

Lastly, I want to personally thank all of you who have recently donated to the Fairfax GOP!  I am so encouraged by the uptick in donations. It couldn’t come at a more important time. Over the next three months, with the run-up to Election Day, we will face our heaviest financial obligations and we depend on your support:

• We need $15,000 for sample ballots to hand out at all the greeter tents during early voting and on election day.
• $20,000 in order to send out Get-out-the-Vote texts and emails, including follow-up with those who applied for absentee ballots.
• $2,500 for flyers to hand out at Back-to-School nights, which is the best opportunity to reach young parents who are often otherwise too absorbed with raising their families and often don’t pay close attention to politics.

These means of outreach are critical to ensuring that we turn out every Republican vote in Fairfax County, so if you haven’t donated yet, I hope you will consider doing so.
