Spanberger’s Office Restored a Dead Woman’s Vote. Jeff McKay Says Trust the System.

Gov. Abigail Spanberger (D) signed a letter saying her office had “completed review” of a felon’s case and restored her right to vote. The felon had been dead since 2024, her father told Fox News.

That is the Democrat version of election integrity. Lecture everyone else about trusting the system, then mail a dead woman a QR code and tell her to go register.

What the Letters Said

The July 1 order carried Spanberger’s signature. A second letter, dated Aug. 31, came from Secretary of the Commonwealth Candi Mundon-King and said the right to vote was restored. It told the recipient to re-register online with a QR code.

Howard “Skip” Lambert told Fox the letters were for his daughter, who died in 2024. He caught what Richmond missed. Fox reported at least two families got letters addressed to the dead, and Fox reported no response from the governor’s office.

House Minority Leader Terry Kilgore (R-Gate City) asked the only question that matters: “If the process is so thorough that they can’t even tell who’s alive and who’s dead, how thorough is it?”

In the Committee’s view, a review that cannot tell the living from the dead is not a review at all. It is a form letter with a governor’s name on it.

She Promised a Careful Review

This is the same office that restored the voting rights of 66,085 Virginians with felony convictions this summer, and nobody had to apply. Her office said it still reviewed each case one by one.

The Committee asked in August how that could be possible. Now there is a letter that says “completed review” on a case tied to a woman who, her father says, had been dead for two years.

Jeff McKay Graded His Own Homework

On Thursday, Oct. 1, Fairfax Board of Supervisors Chairman Jeff McKay (D-At-Large) sat before a House Democrat “shadow hearing” and vouched for the whole system. Security, he said, “is built in multiple layers of every step of the process.”

Look at who was asking. FFXnow reported that House Democrats called the hearing themselves and have no subpoena power as the minority. Rep. James Walkinshaw (D-VA-11) and Rep. Joe Morelle (D-NY) led it, and Rep. Suhas Subramanyam (D-VA-10) attended. FFXnow’s account names no Republican among the members or the witnesses.

So a Democrat chairman told a panel of Democrats that Democrat-run elections are fine. In the Committee’s view, that is not oversight. That is Democrats vouching for Democrats, in the same week Fox showed the governor’s office had vouched for a dead woman’s paperwork.

The Committee has seen no evidence of fraud in Fairfax elections and does not claim any. McKay said there have been “absolutely no” cases of drop box tampering. The problem is who gets to say so, and who checks the people saying it.

Elsewhere, the Justice Department announced charges against 16 people on Oct. 5 in illegal-voting cases, none in Virginia, and every defendant is presumed innocent.

The Receipts, in Order

Spanberger signed the order. Her office wrote “completed review.” Her Secretary of the Commonwealth told a woman who died in 2024 to go register. Fox asked, and the governor’s office gave no answer. Then Jeff McKay told a room full of Democrats to trust the system.

When You Get a Say

The constitutional amendment on automatic rights restoration is on the Tuesday, Nov. 3 ballot, and Fairfax voters are already voting.

Then comes November 2027, when every seat in the General Assembly, all 40 in the Senate and all 100 in the House of Delegates, is on the ballot. So is Jeff McKay’s seat as Chairman. The Democrats who graded their own homework this week get graded by you next.
