Existing and New Election Officers are Needed on August 4th and November 3rd!

Due to the frequent number of elections in Virginia and the large number of precincts in Fairfax County, we need existing Republican-affiliated Election Officers and new recruits to serve for the August 4th Primary and the November 3rd General Election.

Election Officers are the first line of defense to ensuring fair elections, and this is even more true as our number of poll watchers has declined. The Virginia Code requires an equal number of Republican and Democratic-affiliated officers at each precinct, but we fielded only 550 of the 2,100 election officers on April 21st.

Existing election officers. For currently appointed Election Officers, please reserve August 4th and November 3rd on your calendars and respond to the Fairfax County Office of Elections email coming out in the next week or two by indicating you are available and will serve in August during the Primary. For those who have served a few times, please step up to serve as an Assistant Chief or Chief.

For All of Us, Recruit One New Election Officer. If each of us shares the link below with just one conservative-minded citizen in the month of May, we can reach party parity at the polls in August. Perhaps you would like to serve, or know of a graduating senior high school student or a college student who wants to add to their resume and earn $250 for the day? Other good candidates are friends, family, neighbors, and church members who are in between jobs or are retiring soon.

Applying is Easy. Any registered citizen who will be 18 years old by November 3, 2026, can serve as an Election Officer by applying here: https://fairfaxelections.fillout.com/eo-application When you apply, indicate you want to be Republican-affiliated since our #1 goal is parity between Republican and Democrat Election Officers.

Also, please send an email to electionofficers@fairfaxgop.org and let us know you signed up, so we can track the progress of your application. You can also contact Doug Friedly, our liaison to the Fairfax County Office of Elections, at (571) 263-2095, if you have questions.
