On Monday evening, FBI Director Kash Patel delivered newly declassified intelligence to Congress, raising concerns that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) had mass-produced fake U.S. driver’s licenses in an alleged plot to influence the outcome of the 2020 election in favor of Democrat Joe Biden.

The intelligence report, dated August 2020, outlined allegations that China manufactured and exported fake identification documents to create fraudulent voter identities, enabling mail-in ballot manipulation. The report further claimed that the effort was specifically designed to benefit Biden’s campaign. However, officials revealed that the report was never fully investigated and was quickly recalled from circulation within intelligence agencies.

At the time, then-FBI Director Christopher Wray publicly stated there were “no known plots of foreign interference” impacting the 2020 election. Now, the newly surfaced documents raise questions about the scope and handling of potential foreign interference.

The materials were handed over to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), who had previously raised concerns about the intelligence being dismissed too quickly despite the presence of physical evidence—namely, fake licenses.

“Thanks to the oversight work and partnership of Chairman Grassley, the FBI continues to provide unprecedented transparency at the people’s Bureau,” Patel said in a statement to Just the News. “These documents detail alarming allegations related to the 2020 U.S. election, including plans from the CCP to manufacture fake driver’s licenses and ship them into the United States for the purpose of facilitating fraudulent mail-in ballots.”

Patel noted that the intelligence report, although initially substantiated, was never disclosed to the public. He stated that he had “immediately declassified the material” in response to Chairman Grassley’s request.

Sources familiar with the intelligence claim the information originated from a relatively new FBI confidential source in mid-2020. While the FBI did not pursue a full investigation, other agencies—such as U.S. Customs and Border Protection—intercepted nearly 20,000 fake U.S. driver’s licenses during the same period, possibly corroborating parts of the initial report.

The matter is now under further review by the Senate Judiciary Committee.
