At last, some good news from Richmond: the Virginia Senate Judiciary Committee voted down House Bill 961, in a 10 to 5 vote. The bill, if enacted, would have banned many commonly-owned firearms.
The Senate’s rejection of House Bill 961 is a significant blow to Virginia Democrats’ ambitious gun control agenda, which has mobilized defenders of the 2nd Amendment across the Commonwealth.
20,000 concerned Virginians rallied in defense of their 2nd Amendment rights outside the Capitol in Richmond on January 20th. The Fairfax GOP chartered a bus to join them — on the ride home, Fairfax GOP Chairman Tim Hannigan shared his thoughts with WMAL’s Larry O’Connor. “It was an absolute great event today,” Mr. Hannigan said. “It was akin to a Trump rally; and it was that exciting for the people there.”
