REDISTRICTING

Redistricting occurs every ten years after a federal census.  The 2020 census resulted in redistricting to Fairfax County that has significantly reduced the number of voters in the 10th Congressional District, and shifted many into the 11th Congressional District.

8th Congressional District

  • The Candidate will be chosen at the 8th CD Convention on May 21, 2022.
  • ONLY certified Delegates will be able to vote at the Convention.* The deadline to file to be a Delegate was on 2/26/22.

8th Candidates

10th Congressional District

  • The Candidate will be elected by party canvass, aka “firehouse primary”, on May 21, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at the Clifton Town Hall, 12641 Chapel Road, Clifton, VA  20124.
  • Voters will use ranked choice voting.
  • No pre-registration or filing to vote is required.  Any registered Fairfax County Voter, living in the 10th District may vote.  Voter ID is required.

11th Congressional District

  • The Congressional Candidate will be elected by party canvass, aka “firehouse primary”, on May 7, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at the University of North America, 12750 Fair Lakes Circle, Fairfax, VA  22033.
  • Voters will use ranked choice voting.
  • No pre-registration or filing to vote is required.  Any registered Fairfax County Voter, living in the 11th District may vote.  Voter ID is required.
